U.S. support for sovereignty, territorial integrity of Moldova confirmed by American official in Chisinau

Chisinau, 29 August /MOLDPRES/ – The foreign policy agenda, issues related to regional and national security, but also energy security of Moldova were the main topics addressed on Thursday, 29 August, during the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu with John Bolton, national security adviser of U.S. president, Donald Trump, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.

In the dialogue with the American official, minister Nicu Popescu received confirmation that the USA remains a very strong ally and strategic partner in the effective fight against corruption, and the U.S. expertise will help Moldova to achieve concrete results in combating this phenomenon. "We cannot talk about complete security and independence until we win this battle, no matter how difficult it may be," said the head of Moldovan diplomacy.

Also, Nicu Popescu specified that the strategic relationship with the USA is gaining new dimensions and brings real results.

Next week, Minister Nicu Popescu, together with PM Maia Sandu and more members of Government will pay a visit to the United States of America to continue the dialogue on all topics related to Moldovan – American cooperation, including the issues of national and energy security.
