Duty – free shops to benefit from facilities until validity of activity licence expires in Moldova

Chisinau, 30 August /MOLDPRES/ – The duty – free shops, located at the entrance to Moldova and those serving the diplomatic corps, will benefit from facilities until the expiry of validity period of the activity licence, without the right of extension, according to an additional amendment to the draft law for amending certain legislative acts approved by Government, on Friday, 30 August.

According to supplementary amendment, "the economic agents holding the licence for activity of the duty – free shops located in the entrance area on the territory of Moldova and for activity of the duty – free store for the service of diplomatic corps, which term of validity does not expire until 01 January 2020, will continue to benefit until the expiration of the term of validity of the activity licence, without the right of extension, for goods not subject to excise duties, tax and customs facilities granted for duty – free shops located in the departure area of ​​the territory of Moldova”.

The tax and customs facilities currently benefiting the economic agents operating in duty – free regime, which stores are located in the entry area on the territory of Moldova, will be canceled, according to an amendment to the draft amending some legislative acts, approved positively at Government meeting on 09 August. Also, it was announced that the duty – free shops located at the exit of Moldova by land, with the exception of those at the Airport, will be closed after the expiration of their activity licence.
