About 100 thousand people crossings registered at border on Independence Day

Chisinau, 2 September /MOLDPRES/- About 100 thousand people crossings were registered at the state border on August 27, when the 28th anniversary of Moldova’s Independence was marked. This was the busiest day of the past week, according to the General Inspectorate of Border Police.
The most visited border crossing points were Leuseni, Chisinau International Airport and Sculeni, and the most "active" border was with Romania. Thus, 44% of the total crossings were reported at the crossing points located on the Moldovan-Romanian border. At the same time, the largest number of crossings in 24 hours was reported at the Leușeni crossing point, on August 26 - 16,690 people crossing.
In total, on August 26 - September 1 the flow of people was 618,525 crossings, of which a larger number - 321 529 crossings at the entry to Moldova.
During the previous week, 72 foreign citizens and 85 vehicles were refused entry to Moldova.
