French official to visit Chisinau

Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/- French Secretary of State for European Affairs Amélie de Montchalin will pay a visit to Chisinau on September 12-13.

The official will have meetings with President of Moldova Igor Dodon, Prime Minister Maia Sandu, one of the deputy speakers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicolae Popescu. At the same time, Amélie de Montchalin will discuss with Dumitru Diacov, the chairman of the parliamentary faction of the Democratic Party, as well as with the representatives of civil society.

“Amélie de Montchalin will highlight France's full support for the European Union's commitments in Moldova. She will encourage the Moldovan authorities in their efforts to implement the Association Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova, namely in the fight against corruption, the establishment of a rule of law and the independence of the Justice. The official will express the wish of the French authorities to give a new impetus to the relations between France and the Republic of Moldova ”, a press release of the Embassy of France in Chisinau reads.

In Chisinau, the French official will also meet with Francophone students of the main universities in our country, to discuss the relations between the EU and the Republic of Moldova and the Moldovan-French ones.
