Days of Moldova's North Development Region to take place on 12-20 September

Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/ - The North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), under the aegis of the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry, on 12-20 September will organize the Days of the North Development Region (RDN). The action has reached its fifth issue and is set to back regional actors from north Moldova in carrying out strategies of development and creating partnerships, according to MOLDPRES, which is the event’s media partner.
According to ADR Nord, among the goals of the first issue of the Days of the North Development Region, there are the propagation, at a specialized forum, of the region’s economic and investment potential; promotion of local producers and products; presentation of the North Regional Investment Profile; facilitating the creation of development partnerships between settlements/business people from Moldova (especially of the northern region) and from abroad, as well as the development of RDN as tourist destination.
The Days of the North Development Region will start in Balti and the agenda will include more activities organized in Soroca, Chiscareni (Sangerei district), Edinet and are to end with a business forum in Balti.
The Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry will contribute to the carrying out one of the most important events from northern Moldova, with the support of the European Union, government of the Czech Republic, Moldova’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Edinet mayoralty, Soroca district council, Chiscareni village mayoralty, non-governmental organization People in Need Moldova, Mayors for Economic Growth Initiative (M4EG), Pro Regional Cooperation public association, public association, Centre of Integrated Community Development, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Investment Agency, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Sustainable Development Agency of the Brasov County, Romania, Balti Free Economic Zone, Edinet industrial park, Council of the North Regional Development and local public authorities of the region.
The North Development Region includes the Balti city and 11 districts: Briceni, Edinet, Donduseni, Drochia, Falesti, Floresti, Glodeni, Ocnita, Rascani, Sangerei and Soroca. RDN has an area of about 10,014 square km, which accounts for about 32.9 per cent of Moldova’s overall area. The population is over one million residents. The North Region has, after the Chisinau municipality, the biggest share in terms of investments in fixed capital and retail sales. This state of things is due, to a great extent, to the Balti city.
