Exhibition dedicated to Romanian medieval written culture inauguration at Moldova's National Library

Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - The National Library of Moldova (BNRM), in cooperation with the National Archives’ Agency, inaugurated an exhibition titled, The written Romanian medieval culture, on 15 June.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the BNRM deputy director, Veronica Bors, said that the event was part of the 30th issue of the scientific symposium, Bibliophile Values, and was organized in the context of the 500th anniversary of the oldest document written in Romanian language – The Letter of Neacsu from Campulung (1521).
According to Bors, the exhibition’s goal is to turn to good account the written cultural heritage from the 16th-17th centuries, made in the geographic area of the Romanian space.
The public will have occasion to make an incursion in the history of the Romanian written medieval culture, discover true art works, incontestable evidence of wisdom, to know the history of the Romanian books and their importance in the cultural and religious space between Prut and Dniester.
The exhibition will be open till 31 August in the exhibition area of the BNRM’s section of old and rare books.
