As many as 2,068 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 9,965 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 2,068 new cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed. Fourteen out of these cases are import ones. Thus, 321,682 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health Ministry (MS), 42 out of all infection cases are among medical employees (7 physicians, 18 medical assistants, 17 auxiliary staff employees).

As many as 2,535 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 188 are in extremely serious condition and 19 patients are connected to mechanical ventilation.

In the context, 9,256 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 15,661 are under supervision at home.

Another 1,483 people have been treated. As many as 300,697 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MS informs about the registration of another 37 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 7,346 people have died of coronavirus in all.
