Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/- Romanian authorities are willing to provide Moldova with fuel oil.
Acting Minister of Energy of Romania Virgil Popescu said that the Romanian state is ready to send fuel oil to Moldova. He said that Romania has enough resources to afford this aid.
"We are trying to meet the request for fuel oil insurance of the Republic of Moldova and this can probably be resolved fairly quickly. Romania will be able to send fuel oil as needed, it is not a problem. Refineries in Romania can produce enough fuel oil both for domestic consumption and to help Moldova, and we are studying with colleagues in Chisinau to help them. We have permanent contact at the level of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the level of the Ministry of Energy, "Transgaz" directly with the transmission operator across the Prut and I am convinced that the Republic of Moldova will not run out of gas ", he said.
A state of alert in gas is set in Moldova. The main producer of electricity and heat in Chisinau, Termoelectrica company, uses, since October 13, fuel oil as an alternative fuel.
