Falesti, Drochia cities to benefit from better water supply services with EU support

Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/- Projects financed by the European Union for improvement of water supply services were inaugurated in Falesti and Drochia on 20 October. They were implemented by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR) in cooperation with the Modernization of Local Public Services in the Republic of Moldova Project, and aim to provide inhabitants with quality water services.
"The European Union continues to support the citizens of the Republic of Moldova through concrete projects. This is also the case in the cities of Falesti and Drochia, whose purpose is to improve the population's access to safe drinking water. For the EU, such projects are a good example of how we can improve the quality of life of Moldovan citizens, "said Jānis Mažeiks, head of the EU Delegation in Chisinau.
Ullrich Kinne, representative of the German Embassy in our country said that the projects were the result of several years of regional planning and a participatory prioritization process. "Successful cooperation between the EU, Germany and the Republic of Moldova in water supply and sewerage projects opens up new perspectives and development opportunities. We want the citizens and the authorities to use them as well as possible ", he said.
The total value of the project Improving water supply services in the city of Falesti is 35.87 million lei, of which 32.56 million lei granted by the EU, and 3.30 million - local contribution. The total value of the similar project in the city of Drochia is 91.73 million lei, of which 85.25 million lei provided by the EU, and 6.47 million lei - local contribution.
The inauguration of the two projects in Fălești and Drochia are part of the events organized by ADR Nord in the context of the Days of the North Development Region, 7th edition.
