Rate of hospitalization with COVID-19 12-fold higher among non-vaccinated people - study

Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/ - A study carried out and published by the United States Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that the rate of hospitalization following the infection with COVID-19 is 12-fold higher among non-vaccinated people. The study was published on the webpage of the Health Ministry.
According to the quoted source, the people non-vaccinated against COVID-19, with ages between 18 and 49 years, run the risk of needing hospitalization by 14 times more. The risk is higher in the case of the patients with the ages between 50 and 64 years and in the case of people older than 64 years, the risk of hospitalization and developing a serious form of the disease is by nine times higher.
The CDC study also shows that the risk of death is 10-fold higher for the people who hesitate to get vaccinated, in order to be protected from COVID-19.
As many as 1, 472, 843 doses of vaccine have been inoculated in Moldova since last March and 839,851 people have been immunized with the full scheme.
