Ukraine cancels auction regarding quarry from Pervomaysk

Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/ - The auction which was to be organized by the authorities of Ukraine on 20 October on the use of the ground on which the crushed stone quarry from Pervomaysk is placed, was cancelled. Yet, the Ukrainian authorities plan another reverse auction for 5 November 2021.  

According to the Public Property Agency (APP), the auction was cancelled following approaches sent on 5 October 2021by the authorities to the competent bodies of Ukraine (Prosecutor General’s Office, Security Service, Environmental Protection and Mineral Resources Ministry and State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources).

“Yet, we note that the Ukrainian authorities plan another reverse auction with reduction for 5 November 2021. In the context, in order not to allow the harming of the state’s interests, he Public Property Agency undertakes all needed actions to this end,’’ reads a press release issued by the institution.

The Prosecutor General’s Office has earlier informed that the crushed stone quarry from Pervomaysk was the subject of a criminal file.  

According to the quoted source, the criminal file is presently managed by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, which considers the actions alleged to be illegal of decision-makers of the state enterprise, Crushed stone quarry from Pervomaysk, and the former Agriculture Regional Development and Environment Ministry, through the light of committing the offence of abuse of office, committed in material interest, in order to fulfill personal interests or in the interest of third persons, who, as a result, caused damages worth about 22,164,500 lei.
