Moldovan writer edits two books in Iasi, Chisinau

Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/ - A book of aphorisms titled, Ironii sentimentale (Sentimental Ironies) by writer Ianos Turcanu has been recently published in Iasi, Romania, and another one for children, Un cocor cu GPS (A Crane with GPS) – in Chisinau.
The first volume has 106 pages and appeared in 1,000 copies.
According to the editors, the second book is an emotional and educative book, with numerous amusing events in children’s and animals’ world. A book full of precious things and innumerable adventures. A book which teaches us to love the Country, language, the good and the beauty.
Ianos Turcanu was born in the Pelinia village, northern Rascani district, on 26 July 1951. He graduated from the Medicine Institute from Krasnodar, Russia, in 1976 M. Gorki Literature Institute from Moscow in 1980 and worked at the centre for training and special trainings of pilots and cosmonauts from Sochi (1976-1980). In 1992, Turcanu returned to Moldova and was employed at the Chisinau city hall’s Culture Department.
Ianos Turcanu wrote more than 600 texts for light, folk music, sentimental songs and songs for children. His works were translated in English, French, German, Italian, Russian and Ukrainian. He was awarded prizes, diplomas and medals at diverse literary contests in Moldova and Romania. In 2010, he was awarded the Mihai Eminescu medal.
