Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/- Amount of nicotine in the e-cigarette liquid will be low, and access to heated tobacco products and e-cigarettes will be limited. The promulgation decree and the law amending some normative acts were published today in the Official Journal.

According to the document, the changes will prohibit the visible display of tobacco products, devices and accessories for the use, recharging or heating of tobacco products and related products. The actions aim to prevent minors from accessing tobacco and related products, protecting the health of the population from the consequences of tobacco use and exposure to tobacco smoke.

The new changes also provide for a decrease in the amount of nicotine in the liquid for electronic cigarettes. Thus, the regulations approved in 2015 for the amount of nicotine - 20mg per 1 ml of liquid are restored. This provision corresponds to the Framework Convention of the World Health Organization.

This law shall enter into force upon the expiration of 6 months from the date of publication in the Official Journal.
