Foreign minister meets Moldovan citizens on OSCE mission in Ukraine

Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/- On a working visit to Kyiv, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration met with Moldovan citizens on OSCE's special monitoring mission in Ukraine, the MAEIE press service has reported.
"We sent a message of gratitude to about 50 Moldovan experts, who through their daily work in this civilian mission contribute to facilitating the dialogue between the parties involved," he said.
The mission works with authorities at all levels, as well as with civil society, ethnic and religious groups and local communities, to report on the security situation, including documenting alleged violations of fundamental OSCE principles.
During the meeting, our compatriots also exposed some difficulties they face, these are to be solved through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine was conducted on 21 March 2014, following a request from the OSCE by the Ukrainian government and a consensus decision by all 57 participating states. It is an unarmed civilian mission, present on the ground in all regions of Ukraine. Its main tasks are to observe and report impartially and objectively on the situation in Ukraine and to facilitate dialogue between all parties to the crisis.
