Moldsilva agency prepared 5.5 million seedlings for autumn planting

Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/- Foresters have prepared 5.5 million seedlings for this autumn's planting campaign, which will be supported by citizens. About 580 hectares of land intended for planting will be processed in October-November 2021, in order to increase the volume of forested areas, the Moldsilva Agency has reported.

According to the institution, the actions are expected for the traditional National Greening Campaign -A tree for our survival, which starts on November 13.

„Traditionally, during this period, forest crops will be created in the forest fund and works will be carried out to help natural regeneration on an area of ​​347 ha. 30 tons of acorns will be planted in the soil, and the completion of forestry works, created in previous years, will cover an area of ​​3.4 thousand ha, using about 2.5 million seedlings," Moldsilva said.

At the same time, the Agency Moldsilva comes with an urge to the whole society to get involved and actively participate in the National Greening Campaign by planting seedlings both in the forest fund and in parks, squares or adjacent lands of institutions. "The impact of the environment and our future is directly affected by the consistency of the areas covered with forest vegetation", says Moldsilva.

The National Greening Day was established by the presidential decree of February 1995, aimed at creating new forests, forest strips to protect fields, parks, squares, alignments along public roads etc.
