Moldovan capital's residents prepared to pay for paid car parks from city - study

Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/ - Most respondents of an opinion poll conducted in Chisinau showed willingness to pay for the parking of the vehicle at the paid car parks.   

An opportunity study on the implementation of the system of management of car parks from the Chisinau city, carried out by a private company on 28 May – 9 June 2021, was unveiled at the Chisinau city hall today.   

Within this study, an opinion poll was presented, in which 1,135 people from the Chisinau city participated. According to the results of the sociological research, over 60 per cent of the respondents positively appreciate the creation of the system of paid car parks and are ready to pay for one hour of parking.   

The main conclusion of the opportunity study is that the issue of parking places can be settled through a complex of measures connected to the city’s possibilities, by using public-private partnerships.

Attending the event, representatives of the Chisinau city’s administration informed that they had planned the allocation of 100 million lei for the organization of parking places, including in the area of the historical centre, as well as for the creation of the car parks at the entrance/exit from the city.
