Pupils go on autumn vacation in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/ - The pupils from the elementary schools, gymnasiums and lyceums go on autumn vacation, which will last nine days. Thus, today is the last day when pupils go to classes. They are to return to schools on 1 November.   

Education and Research Ministry ruled to extend the pupils’ autumn vacation which, according to an order signed by Minister Anatolie Topala, will last during 23-31 October. The decision was taken to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, ensure the prophylaxis and security in the elementary schools, gymnasiums and lyceums.   

At the same time, the Education Ministry warned the heads of the public and private general education institutions to establish, on the period of the autumn vacation, a flexible or special working regime, with attraction to work of only the strictly necessary staff, in order to ensure the institutions’ functionality. The employees whose presence is not compulsory in the education institution will work online.   

On the autumn vacation period, no activities with physical presence of pupils and teachers will be carried out at the public and private elementary schools, gymnasiums and lyceums and extra-school institutions.  

According to the structure of the 2021-2022 school year, the next inter-semester vacation will take place on the period 25 December 2021 -9 January 2022. The pupils will also have vacations in spring and at Easter.
