As many as 2,057 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 10,245 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 2,057 new cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed. Thirteen out of these cases are import ones. Thus, 325,526 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.
According to data by the Health Ministry (MS), 35out of all infection cases are among medical employees (10 physicians, 19 medical assistants, 6 auxiliary staff employees).
As many as 2,836 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 252 are in extremely serious condition and 34 patients are connected to mechanical ventilation.
In the context, 9,607 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 16,031 are under supervision at home.
Another 1,512 people have been treated. As many as 303,659 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.
At the same time, MS informs about the registration of another 38 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 7,424 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus killed a 54-year-old medical assistant from the Oncological Institute. As many as 120 medical employees have died because of the COVID-19 infection so far.
