Chisinau hospitals reached maximum treatment capacity of coronavirus patients

Chisinau, 25 Octber /MOLDPRES/- There are no more beds for patients with COVID-19 in municipal hospitals in Chisinau.

Mayor Ion Ceban announced today after the meeting of the Extraordinary Municipal Commission of Public Health that all eight municipal hospitals are activated for the cure of coronavirus patients and that the entire treatment capacity, 1,553 beds is full. "50 percent of patients admitted to municipal hospitals are not domiciled in Chisinau, the pressure on the municipal health system is enormous. We will reach the situation where the municipal hospitals may not receive patients who are not domiciled in Chisinau ", said Ceban.

At the same time, the mayor said that the authorities did not reimburse the expenses of municipal health institutions that treated coronavirus patients in 2020 and 2021. functioning of these institutions ", specified the quoted source.

In the context of the increasing number of coronavirus patients, Ion Ceban requested the creation of a single command center for pandemic management.

According to the Ministry of Health, to date, 328,000 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the Republic of Moldova, and 306,269 patients have been treated.
