Wine companies won a thousand medals since beginning of 2021

Chisinau, 25 October / MOLDPRES /- Winemakers from the Republic of Moldova set a new record. In the first nine months of the year, wineries won more than a thousand medals at international competitions.
At the recent edition of the International Wine Contest Bucharest Vinarium Moldovan producers won 113 medals, of which 88 gold. Previously, at the Selections Mondial des Vin du Canada, local winemakers won 47 gold medals, including 7 - Grand Gold. They registered the first performances and wineries in transition, supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Moldova, getting 10 medals.
"It is the largest number of awards accumulated to date, and the performance confirms the quality of the products internationally," said USAID experts.
USAID has supported the wine industry in Moldova since 2005, helping winemakers realize their creativity and potential. "Over the years, Moldovan winemakers have managed to open new markets and enjoy hundreds of awards at several international exhibitions and competitions. This success story - the transition from an old system to a promising future, while embracing new technologies, the talent, passion and dedication of winemakers and their teams is an open lesson for all Moldovans, ”says USAID.
The USAID High-Value Agriculture in Moldova project aims for 2016-2021 to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector to boost economic growth and change in rural areas, increasing the well-being of the country's inhabitants. To achieve this goal, the APM project, together with agricultural entrepreneurs, associations of irrigation water users and other partners, contributes to increasing the profitability of each hectare of agricultural land, increasing the quality and productivity of cultivated products, increasing local and international sales and encouraging partnerships in the agricultural sector.
