41 drivers found drunk on weekend

Chisinau, 25 October /MOLDPRES/- On weekend, patrol inspectors removed 41 drunk drivers from the wheel of the car, with the highest number recorded on Friday - 32.

According to police, most of the drivers found were in an advanced state of intoxication.

Statistical data recorded in the 9 months of this year show that drunk drivers caused 96 road accidents, in which 13 people lost their lives, and 113 were killed with various injuries.

Driving the transport unit in a state of intoxication is punishable by a fine of up to 25 thousand lei or unpaid work for the benefit of the community with a duration of 40 to 60 hours. In addition, drivers are deprived of the right to drive for up to one year. If caught in a state of advanced alcohol intoxication while driving, drivers risk the revocation of the right to drive more transport units.
