Romanian Heroes Parcel inaugurated in central Moldova village

Chisinau, 25 October /MOLDPRES/ - A Parcel of Romanian Heroes, who died during the World War II, was inaugurated after reconstruction in the Sofia village, central Hancesti district today, on the Romanian Army Day. The project was carried out by the National Office for the Cult of Heroes from Romania, in cooperation with the Agency for Military Science and Memory.
Attending the event were Moldova’s Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii, Ambassador of Romania to Moldova Daniel Ionita, other representatives of the diplomatic corps, local public administration, Metropolitan See of Bessarabia, residents of the Sofia village, etc.
Sixty four Romanian servicemen of the Regiment 2 Foot Soldiers Valcea are buried in the Sofia village, who died in the concerned region in military operations in 1941.
This is the second project on reconstruction of a Parcel of Romanian Heroes, who died while fulfilling their military duty, carried out by the National Office for the Cult of Heroes from Romania and the Agency for Military Science and Memory of Moldova in 2021. The first one was re-arranged in the Baimaclia commune, eastern Causeni district.
