Moldovan doctors continue to help colleagues in Romania

Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/- Since the beginning of the cross-border humanitarian mission, the SMURD Moldova team has made 11 in-hospital transfers for Romanian patients with COVID-19, providing assistance to 163 patients.
According to IGSU data, during the last 24 hours, the 10 SMURD paramedics performed four in-hospital transfers of patients infected with COVID-19, in critical condition, intubated under direct air from the Emergency Reception Unit St. Spiridon from Iași at the Mobile / Modular Hospital St. Paraschiva from Lețcani commune.
In total, since the beginning of the cross-border humanitarian mission, the SMURD Moldova team has performed 11 in-hospital transfers for Romanian patients with COVID-19, providing assistance and support to monitoring, screening, assistance in medical investigation and hospitalization for 163 patients who have were transported by ambulances.
On 26 October, SMURD paramedics from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Interior deployed to Romania will continue the mission by working in 24-hour shifts and will intervene in support of the Romanian medical system.
The cross-border mission of doctors and paramedics from the Republic of Moldova will be carried out until 27 October 2021.
