Moldovan writer edits book of poems

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - A book of poems titled, Petals and sand, signed by poet, humorist, prose writer and dramatist Ion Diordiev, has appeared at a publishing house from Chisinau.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, Ion Diordiev said that the book had 146 pages and comprised quatrains written by him in the last years.
Ion Diordiev was born in the Nezavertailovca village, eastern Slobozia district, on 20 May 1935. In 1962, he graduated from the Moldovan State University, History and Philology Faculty, specialty of Romanian language and literature. He was head of section at the satire and humour magazine Chiparus (Pepper) and deputy editor-in-chief at the newspaper Feroviarul Moldovei (Moldova’s Railway-man). Diordiev taught the special course, Theory and practice of the genres of satire and humour in media, for students of the Letters Faculty of Moldova’s State University.
He debuted with a volume of humorous sketches and miniatures titled Zigzags in 1976.
