Chisinau, 11 November /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Health announced yesterday that it has identified a number of non-conformities in registration and reporting of deaths caused by COVID-19. Specifically, hundreds of registered but unreported deaths were identified.
Some unreported deaths are as early as 2020. "For example, of the 60 cases of death reported on November 10, nine are due to previous periods," the ministry said in a statement.
The institution states that a team is currently working to verify all cases registered during 2020-2021.
At Wednesday's weekly conference on the evolution of the epidemiological situation and the vaccination process against COVID-19, the leadership of the Ministry of Health announced that 309 deaths have been registered in the last seven days. Thus, the mortality rate is 8.3 deaths per 100 thousand population and increased by over 5% compared to the previous week and by about 81% compared to the previous month.
