Moldova to negotiate agreement with Japan on customs

Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/- The government decided to initiate negotiations on the draft agreement with the government of Japan on mutual administrative assistance in the customs field.
The document provides for mutual administrative assistance to be offered by the customs administration of both countries for the correct application of customs legislation, prevention, investigation and combating of violations of customs legislation, as well as ensuring the security of the international supply chain, Finance Minister Octavian Armasu said.
The document is to be concluded for an unlimited period and will be applicable in the territories of the states of both contracting parties, under their national law. Any party may terminate the agreement at any time by notification through diplomatic channels.
Moldova has concluded such multilateral agreements within the World Customs Organisation, the European Union, CIS and GUAM. At the same time, the Moldovan government has signed such bilateral treaties with 24 states, including the EU member states (Poland, Romania, Italy, Bulgaria, Holland, Lithuania, Greece, Slovakia, Spain), CIS member states (Ukraine, Russia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan), other states (Turkey, Albania, Israel, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Georgia and Serbia).
