National Bank of Moldova fines commercial bank

Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/ - The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) has find a commercial bank of Moldova with 362,141 lei. BNM announced the decision today.

A press release by the National Bank reads that the sanction regards Banca de Finanțe și Comerț S.A (Finance and Commerce Bank stock company). Besides the fine, BNM imposed sanctions in form of warning against the members of the aforementioned bank’s management committee, in office on the period subjected to control.

The decision was taken following a control carried out at the bank, which showed more infringements. More exactly, the banks failed to observe the legislation on the prevention and combating the money laundering and financing terrorism, on currency regulation, payment services and payment systems.

At the same time, according to BNM, “the bank did not observe some legislative provisions on the classification of the conditional assets, concentration of bank’s risks, providing of loans, carrying out transactions with people affiliated to banks, internal control systems and the administration framework.
