Bank from Moldova fined by over 2 million lei

Chisinau, 26 June /MOLDPRES/- COMERTBANK has got a fine of 1.7 million lei. The penalty was imposed by the Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova. Moreover, the members of committee were fined with 551,602 lei.
According to a press release, BNM announces it has applied sanction as warning to the committee members in the office during the period under control.
The fines were applied after several violations of the law were detected in the institution after a check.
The BNM states that "the bank has not complied with certain requirements of the legislation on the composition of the council, preventing and combating money laundering and terrorist financing, requirements related to lending activity, making transactions with affiliated persons to the bank".
BNM sanctioned yesterday another bank in Moldova. In this case, the fine amounted to about 360,000 lei.
