List of activities allowed in IT parks extended in Moldova

Chisinau, 5 July /MOLDPRES/ - The list of activities which could be carried out in the information technology parks has been extended at the expense of research and innovation activities. The parliament today adopted a draft law to this end in the final reading.

The new activities which can be carried out in the IT parks refer to training in the computers sector, services of research and experimental development in computers and informatics sciences, nano-technology, engineering and technology, mathematics and physics, bio-technology and nano-biotechnology, manufacture of electronic components, services of getting cartoons and of specialized design films, based on the use of specialized high-tech computer equipment.

At present, about 400 companies work in the information technology sector in Moldova, where about 10,000 people are employed. Employers speak about an acute insufficiency of qualified specialists, estimated at about 1,000 persons per year.
