About 4 million calls received by 112 Service in first year of launch

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/- The 112 National Emergency Call Service has just one year since its launch. During this period operators took over at least 12 thousand daily calls, the total number of requests reaching 3,900,000.
Press officer of the 112 service Ana Carpovici said that during the period, most requests were to Ambulance – 79.1 per cent, Police – 23.2 per cent, firemen – 2.4 per cent. In terms of geographical location, most calls come from Chisinau and Balti municipalities and Orhei and Ialoveni districts.
The 112 service has 82 operators responding to the calls of citizens of the Republic of Moldova. It operates on a non-stop basis, and all calls are free to users on both fixed and mobile phones. It became operational in late March last year and was finally put into operation in late June.
