Moldovan deputy premier meets head of Naftogaz Board of Directors

Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration started the two-day program in the Ukrainian capital with a meeting with Yuriy Vitrenko, head of the board of the Ukrainian company Naftogaz, the MAEIE press service has reported.
The discussions took place in the context of existing bilateral cooperation between the countries, the main topic being strengthening the interaction in the energy field in order to diversify Moldova's sources of natural gas supply and, respectively, increase the security of our state in this sector.
"Given the unprecedented energy crisis facing several European countries at the moment, we have agreed with the Ukrainian side to create a working group that will allow Ukraine to take over the expertise on gas imports," Nicu Popescu said.
The officials addressed the technical solutions that can be implemented in cooperation with the Ukrainian authorities, in order to supply gas to Moldova.
